Guess I've hit the big time! The Archival Film Department at Texas Tech University has amassed a huge library of Vietnam era home movies shot by the troops that were stationed there. Some of this footage hasn't been viewed since the 70s. The department was looking for an economical method to get the highest quality transfers they could and to accomodate a variety of speeds as well as both regular 8 and super 8 footage. Important to them was the ability to get the ENTIRE frame for maximum information retrieval and resolution. Anyway, they're excited and I'm excited that they're excited. I'd love to see some of this footage.

One transfer customer had a long stretch of R8 B&W film done in the early 40's with one short part of a topless native girl. They were all smileing and looking at the camera...

Congratulations, that's great!
Is Texas Tech going to make this footage available on a website somewhere, is it going to be a part of a documentary, or do they just need it for storage?
I'd like to see that footage, too.
